My art is a reflection of the complex journey I undertook to reconnect with my heritage and heal the deep wounds that had estranged me from my mother for over a decade. This profound transformation began when, one day, my mother courageously initiated a conversation, acknowledging her role in our shared history and expressing her desire to make amends.

In response, I revealed the key to my healing: I needed to reclaim my heritage. It was an ancestral tapestry that had been hidden from me, a secret that had created distance between us. With gentleness, my mother began to speak aloud the truths of our lineage and shared the long-kept genealogy. In that moment, what was once concealed became an open, shared truth.
