Description

This piece of Broken Arm, an Oglala Sioux, is a tribute to the strength and resilience of Indigenous people in the face of adversity. This work is inspired by a photograph captured by Frank A. Rinehart in 1899, a time when Indigenous cultures were facing immense challenges.
Broken Arm’s image, frozen in time, serves as a reminder of the rich heritage, wisdom, and dignity of the Oglala Sioux and Indigenous communities at large. Through my art, I hope to breathe new life into this historical figure, honoring their spirit and the enduring legacy of their people.
